Hiking 101
I survived my first hike yesterday!
We originally set out to go fishing at the Salt River, but when the exit to the 202 was closed we decided to head to Canyon Lake outside of Apache Junction.
It is a nice drive to Canyon lake very nice views as well as scary hill roads and it is only 20 minutes from AJ. Once we go to Canyon Lake we drove right past it to Apache lake. Which is a very scary drive and unpaved YUCK! We did drop some poles in the water but it was so windy we couldn't really fish, so we decided to head back.
On our way back I decided we should stop at the Lost Duchman state park at the foot of the Superstition Mountains. We arrived at the park paid our 5 dollars and decided we would follow one of their trails for a while. Here is a picture that I took from the parking lot. See that boulder way up there. We climbed all the way to it.

Here is a picture we took when we got to the boulder and turned to face the way we had come. See those white specs in the distant...that is the parking lot!! It took us 2 hours to get up there,I thought I was gonna die there at the very end. It was a really steep grade and it was like climbing stairs...I can't believe we did it!

Here are some pictures I took of Luke and Tim, Bunny, and Steve, and of course the mountain.

Christmas 2008
Christmas 2008 has to be one of the best Christmas's we have ever had.
I woke up early to lay on the couch to wait for the kids to wake up.
Here is a picture of our tree Christmas morning with the kids Santa Gift under it.
Tim got a new Razor Scooter and Luke got a Digital Camera. (its under his stocking)
I love being up early so I can see the boy's faces when they see the tree and the present underneath. The barely wake up and come stumbling down the hall and I love the facial expressions.
Then the looks of joy when they see their presents!
On Christmas Eve we celebrated with Steve's Family at his sister Lori's house. As usual we all had a terrific time! I do love my inlaws and I am soo lucky I know alot of crazy inlaws lol.
Here are some of my favorite pictures
then on Christmas Day we celebrated with my family, My Mom and Dad came over and my Mom made us Red Chili, Beans, and tamales, YUM!!! It was so delicious!! We also had baked yummies like fudge, Pecan Pie, sugar cookies and pecan balls.
Here are some pics and videos of Christmas Day
This is a video
All in all we had a terrific holiday!
